Service temporarily unavailable (503)

To facilitate electrical upgrades to the Clearihue building, which houses the Enterprise Data Centre, UVic Information Systems (formerly known as CASS) is required to interrupt services on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, Feb. 15, 10 p.m. - Saturday, Feb. 16, 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 22, 10 p.m. - Saturday, Feb. 23, 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 29, 10 p.m. - Saturday, Mar. 1, 8 a.m.

The outages detailed above indicate the maximum amount of time scheduled for the upgrade. UVic Information Systems will make every effort to minimize the duration of the service interruptions, up to and including the cancellation of the second outage should all electrical work be completed on February 16.

All services, including the following online services, will be unavailable during these periods:
  • Learning & Teaching systems: Blackboard, Moodle, online library catalog
  • Research systems: Minerva, Mercury, Mars, Kikou, TAPoR, Euler, Llaima, Storage, Venus, Proteomics
  • Administrative (Nova) systems: uSource, FAST, Finance, HR, Student, Alumni, Facilities Management
  • Collaboration services: Voicemail, VPN, wireless and public access ports
  • Networking and telephone service to and from 3930 Shelbourne Street
  • Networking to and from the Clearihue building
  • Directory services: LDAP and Active Directory
  • Email, calendaring, web sites (except uvic.ca), Sharepoint, file services, Thin Client services
